EFSCRJ Calls on President Barrow to Address the Nation and Declare a National Energy Emergency

EFSCRJ is deeply concerned about The Gambia’s persistent electricity crisis, which is disrupting livelihoods, healthcare, education, water supply and the enjoyment of fundamental rights. Citizens are paying for electricity yet continue to endure prolonged outages, exposing serious failures of leadership, planning and governance in the energy sector. We call on President Barrow to address the nation and tell citizens the true state of affairs, declare a National Energy Emergency, and implement a transparent, adequately funded and time-bound plan to restore affordable, reliable and sustainable electricity. The Gambian people deserve the truth, accountability and dependable public services.
