EFSCRJ Calls on President Barrow To Withdraw Threats Against Hon. Bah and Respect Citizens’ Right to Peaceful Protest

Peaceful protest is a right. Presidential restraint is a duty, not a favour.

EFSCRJ Election Watch condemns President Barrow’s threats against Hon. Modou Lamin Biram Bah over the electricity protests. Invoking Jammeh’s shooting of protesters to demand gratitude for presidential “tolerance” is unacceptable. Citizens’ safety must never depend on a president’s goodwill.

We call on President Barrow to withdraw his threats, respect peaceful assembly, and address citizens’ grievances. The nationwide tour must serve public accountability, not intimidation or partisan campaigning.

Demanding electricity is not destabilization. It is citizenship.
