EFSCRJ has released its latest Election Watch Status Report as The Gambia moves closer to the December 2026 Presidential Election.
The report highlights emerging concerns around inflammatory and derogatory political rhetoric, abuse of incumbency, selective law enforcement, money in politics, unequal access to public media, and the effectiveness of electoral oversight. These trends require urgent attention from the IEC, political parties, state institutions, the media, civil society and citizens.
A free and fair election is not made on Election Day alone. The time to prevent electoral malpractice, political polarization and election violence is NOW.
EFSCRJ will continue to monitor, document and expose conduct that undermines electoral integrity while promoting compliance with the law and democratic standards.
Free Elections. Fair Competition. Equal Treatment. Peaceful Gambia.
